You and Me. Me and You.
About myself: I’m a 22 year old new professional working for Bank of America in their Global Wealth and Retirement Services group in a controller role. I recently graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Financial Economics. I currently have an aggressively positioned Roth IRA and general brokerage account and a moderately positioned Roth 401(k) provided through Bank of America. I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter, Community, Reading, Swimming, Climbing trees, Travel, Cooking and Eating. I’m currently reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, What If? by Randall Munroe, and When Genius Failed by Roger Lowenstein. I play (probably too much) League of Legends and Clash of Clans.
My goal, first and foremost is to provide a simple, engaging, and actionable site for people who aren’t sure how to invest their first paycheck, but know that early planning for retirement is important. I know these topics can seem intimidating, so I will try to make these entries as digestible as possible. In the future, I’d like to build enough of a platform/readership to have meaningful conversations about investing, news, and other interesting topics.
From you, my valued reader, I ask that you give each article a chance. Topics might be overwhelming, too sparse or straight up boring. Ask any and all questions on any platform and I will definitely reply with as best a researched reply as I can. I welcome comments, criticisms, suggestions, rude gestures, etc. Let me know what you want to know.
In return for your patience and questions, I promise that I will try my best to publish edited, readable, and factually correct articles. The topic of investing is often opaque, nuanced, and difficult. It is my hope and goal that I can shed some light to your first steps towards a safe retirement.
